Who am I?

Hello! My name is deconbatch.

I find genuine joy in the simple things: having a good night's sleep, eating enough to keep the hunger away, and having a cat curled up next to me.

But my truest satisfaction comes from drawing sine curves on a computer screen. Creative coding is my passion—it's an exciting, deeply rewarding, and surprisingly cost-effective hobby.

I primarily use Processing (Java) and p5.js (Javascript) to write my generative art programs. You can find the source code for these projects right here on the blog.

You can also find me posting updates on these social media channels:

My long-term ambition is to build a machine capable of creating art autonomously. However, because I still grapple with defining what art truly is, I know this will be a lengthy journey.

For this same reason, I struggle to confidently differentiate between Creative Coding and Generative Art, and I can't definitively label my own work as "art." Therefore, I prefer to describe my output simply as "creative coding".

Hello from Finland Deconbatch! I'm very happy to find your pages :) I start to follow you. My hobby is algorithmic art too. I don't program p5.js (maybe I should start learning it), but REBOL language. Do you know REBOL? I'm little lazy to update my homepage, but there is something to see: https://petke.info/

      Thank you for your mention.
I visited your website. The photo at the art exhibition looks nice!
I've not known about the REBOL (Relative Expression Based Object Language). Do you make your algorithmic art with REBOL? That's great! 😀

Hi Deaconbatch...cool projects you have...I just began in Generative Art by learning p5.js and your site has been the best resource thanks to your well written stories of the projects you share. Greeting from Mexico...
